    Usually, I call him 45.  Don’t want to feed the ego of a narcissist by calling out his name.  But every shred of ignominy that is associated with this era needs to be associated with this putrid 45th President of the United States.  So let’s call it, the Trump era.  The era of indifference to human rights, the era of obduracy around international cooperation, the era of pugilism with our allies, the era of abdication of international leadership.

Faith and prayer have been the backbone of the African American community since we came upon these shores.  We have counted on our faith leaders (the roll call would include Revs. Richard Allen, Absalom Jones, James Walker Hood, Martin Luther King, Jr., Wyatt Tee Walker, Jesse L.     The stupidly foul and racist comedienne Roseanne Barr is as insignificant as a single drop of rain in a thunderstorm and so, on one hand, she deserves to be upbraided, to have lost her television show, and to be written down in the halls of ignominy.  At the same time her description of former White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett as the spawn of “Muslim Brotherhood & planet of the apes”, is unfortunately consistent with our nation’s history of dehumanizing and defeminizing African American women.
